As a sorority woman myself (unfortunately, my school does not have Kappa Delta, so I’m a Kappa Alpha Theta), I cannot stress enough the wonders of going Greek. Forget the stereotypes you think you’ve heard and check it our for yourself. For me, I went through recruitment because I had yet to find my “home away from home” at Berkeley. As a Girl Scout of 15 years, sisterhood has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. So, naturally, as a college student, I wanted to share in a bond of sisterhood with other women who were interested in intellectual, moral, and social growth. At Kappa Alpha Theta, that is exactly what I found. Leadership, friendship, service, academics, and fun, a sorority is basically a reaaaaaally big Girl Scout troop for college women. Sorority life isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a Girl Scout, I definitely urge you to give it a shot once you get to college.
